The Hero's Journey with Carrie Kennedy
Wednesday, July 14th 7pm-8 pm
Cost $5.00

The idea of the "Hero's Journey," first set forth by scholar Joseph Campbell, is a structure that helps explain the fascinating stories humans have been telling one another since ancient times. Local author and educator Carrie Zuberbuhler Kennedy will be explaining this idea in simple terms-using examples from ancient Greek mythology, Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson books, Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz, and Disney's The Lion King-with the goal of helping young readers and writers become more aware of the power of stories. Kennedy, who holds a Master's in education, is the author of Panorama: An Introduction to Classical Mythology. The book received a 2010 IPPY Award for excellence in independent publishing. Wednesday July 14th 7-8 pm $5.00 Suggested ages 9-13
