On October 16, the Penguin was excited to welcome local author Caroline Carlson to the bookstore to talk about her children's series, THE VERY NEARLY HONORABLE LEAGUE OF PIRATES: MAGIC MARKS THE SPOT and THE TERROR OF THE SOUTHLANDS!
Caroline played pirate-themed Mad Libs and read from the second book in the series, THE TERROR OF THE SOUTHLANDS. She fielded questions about talking gargoyles, will-they-won't-they romance between characters, where her ideas come from, and what the writing and publishing process is like. Following her talk, Caroline spoke one-on-one with her readers as she signed books.
A wonderful, piratical time was had by all!
