Andrea Perry
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio the oldest of eight children, Andrea was
raised on a steady diet of Dr. Seuss which probably accounts for her
love of all things rhymed. Over the years she also devoured Ogden
Nash, Jack Prelutsky, and Douglas Florian, but never considered a
career writing rhyme for herself until 1991. After taking a community
college course in writing for children, she joined the local chapter of
SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators).
Fifty-eight rejections later she sold her first poem, The Mommymobile.
Since then she has been published in childrens magazines, partents
magazines, teaching journals, craft books and poetry anthologies.
