Author of The
Strange Case of Origami Yoda.
Tom Angelberger, wrote to us
when we
had our Yogurt and Yoda event for Father's Day. We think he really
liked our event because we just heard that he wants to come to Sewickley
when he visits Pittsburgh in October! So join us for an evening with
Tom
folding Yodas, teaching people to fold Yodas, demonstrating Dwight's
fake knuckle
cracking and how to play a non-video game Star Wars. And of, course
he'll be signing copies of The Strange
Case of Origami
Yoda! Copies of this book may be purchased at Penguin
Bookshop prior to the book signing or at the library the evening of the
event.

IRREVERENT CONVERT
Poet and memoirist Mary Karr likes her
edges sharp and her humor dark. She wowed readers and reviewers alike
with her latest venture into the depths of her fiery family history, Lit:
A Memoir. Karr brings wit and charisma to the Drue Heinz Lectures
with her electrifying story of how to grow up, selected as a 2009 Top
Five Non-Fiction Book by The NY Times Book Review.
Praising
Lit, New York Times' reviewer Michiko Kakutani writes, "[Karr]
has written a book that lassos you, hogties your emotions and won't let
you go." Mary Karr, author of Liars' Club and Cherry, is a
PEN prize winner for nonfiction, a Guggenheim Fellow in poetry, and the
Peck Professor of Literature at Syracuse University.
