  Monday Morning, September 20th at 10 AM as a special treat Annie Barrows Co-author of Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society will do a book signing at Penguin Bookshop the morning of the 20th. Plan to join us for coffee and Guernsey Literary Dream Pie! Details TBA!

  For children ages 3-5 Pack up your brown bag lunch and join your friends at the Penguin Bookshop for a lunch-hour story time. Munch on lunch while Miss Penguin reads. Then try a make- and-take activity.

  Zen and Mindfulness Book Club (All are welcome) Monday, September 20th at 7:00 PM This book club will focus on how we can be fully present and engaged in key areas of our life such as work, family, and health.  The club is open to the public.  Discussion will be facilitated by members of the Zen Center of Pittsburgh.  We will be reading some of the best recent books that address these questons from the perspective of Zen practice and mindfulness. Together they created The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, an endearing classic for the ages! Annie Barrows opens the 2010/11 Drue Heinz Lectures with their sweet and surprising story of success that stunned the publishing world. Annie Barrows, whose career also included work in libraries, bookstores, and publishing, is the author of the Ivy & Bean series for children, as well as the children's novel The Magic Half. She is currently at work on her next novel to be published by The Dial Press.
