The Writing Life: How to Get Published
Thursday, March 25th at 7:00PM

Pittsburgh native David W. Berner, author of
dozens of published articles, stories, essays, and the recently released memoir
ACCIDENTAL LESSONS, will be at Penguin Bookshop for both a writer's workshop
and an author's reading.

The
workshop will run from 7-8PM and will reveal the
secrets and realities of being published in any genre.  Berner will
cover the work of writing novels, memoir, non-fiction, and magazine
articles.  He'll discuss the advantages and disadvantages of getting an
agent, self-publishing, and how to write the kind of query letter that
gets attention.  The workshop is free but space is limited.  Please
e-mail your reservation to booklovers@penguinbookshop.com  by March
20th.  Please include your contact information.

At
the conclusion of the workshop, Berner will conduct a reading from his newest,
soon to be published memoir about fatherhood and from ACCIDENTAL LESSONS, his
memoir about the experience teaching in one of the Chicago area's toughest
school districts. Berner will also be available for signings.
